We have been going to August for many years, though not as often as we would have liked. They are not open on Sundays, which we miss.
August is small and pretty, and the food is delicious.
We have never had a bad meal here, and are always more than satisfied.
Last night, the four of us had appetizers, entrees and desserts.
My appetizer was a special - bruschetta topped with filet mignon, fried onions and cheese. It was marvelous. My husband had their excellent beet salad.
It is always hard to order here. It is not that the menu is large - it isn't - but everything always sounds (and is) good.
I ended up ordering one of my favorites here, talapia over risotto. Fish is always done perfectly. My husband had the rolled veal stuffed with spinach and cheese, a dish he remembered from the old Pecardi's.
He said it was wonderful. Our friends had pasta dishes, one topped with large shrimp, the other with seafood. Pastas here are excellent.
I won't share my dessert here because Maria makes such wonderful ones. Last night she had made her cocoanut custard pie, among other things, and I can't resist it. Maryann, her partner, is the chief chef and everything is made to order.
The partners and their staff always give us a warm welcome.
If the food weren't so good this wouldn't matter.
As it is, we always leave feeling very happy and looking forward to a return visit.
