Hey, Kevin --

Saw that you were posting some queries re: me hood, perhaps your new to the neighborhood. At any rate, here's my list of "good eats" in Silverlake/Los Feliz that are reasonably priced:

Madame Matisse breakfast, lunch, dinner (only Thurs-Sat). Wonderful food, French "inspired" but also offers other choices. Dinner is the hoods best kept secret.

Back Door Cafe: in the heart of Silverlake, across from Spaceland. A funkier version of the Alcove (and less expensive). Also, has a lot of good baked goods.

Comfort Cafe (formerly BBG Cafe): I've brought this up on the board before (do a search), love the food, great pick-up place: sandwiches, salads, turkey meatloaf, etc. If you have a gym membership next door, you get 10% off.

Los Feliz Bakery: on Hillhurst, French, terrific tuna salad, quiche, French pastries -- reasonable priced!

Allegria on Sunset: Mexican -- check out chicken doritas tacos & burritos. I've become less of a fan because they don't let you substitute anything but my husband loves this place.

La Parrilla (great guac, known for their sizzling chix & beef dish to be split, comes w/ 4 small beers, home-made tortillas, kitchy but good!)

Yucas: taco/ burrito hut on Hyperion - neighborhood fav

Eat Well on Sunset - good diner food, also another in nearby Glendale

Tacos Delta: on Sunset, solid take-out Mexican

El Cochinito: next door to Allegria, Cuban - very reasonable and pretty good

Okay, I'm done -- I'm sure "the others" (don't I sound like the last eps of LOST?) have opinions/thoughts.
