I just happened to have bought the three ingredients for this ATK's recipe, however I only have fresh lemons and not the bottled lemon juice.
If I had bottled lemon juice, how long will jam like this last? Do the unopened jars have to be refrigerated or can they stay in the pantry? How long can opened jars stay in the fridge? I've never done this before but I do have two Ball glass jars w/ the lids.
Since I only have fresh lemons, can this be made as a short term jam w/o the canning process? Would this then last 3-5 days? More than a week? I don't know if I want to use so much sugar and since I bought a lot of granny smith apples, I may use a combo of 1/2 strawberries and 1/2 granny smith apples.
I don't really eat a lot of jam or jellies. I have one Polaner's all fruit in my fridge for god knows how long. Can this jar be reused?
