Stopped into the new Athan's in Brighton Center.
Holey moley it is a full service restaurant, breakfast lunch and dinner with a really nice full menu leaning in a sort of nouvelle-greek direction.
The prices are insanely reasonable. Most expensive entree was a nice sounding lamb dish for $13.
The decor is gorgeous. It looks like a Parisian cafe. Lots of clean marble and very high ceilings. They have all the usual pastries and very nice looking bread from "some bakery in JP."
I bought two pastries and swore to come back for dinner.
They said they do there most traffice for weekend breakfast/lunch, but if the dinner menu is half as good as it sounds it is the bargain of boston. I have to say, by the looks of this place is really belongs in the back bay.
It was quiet when I was there at 3:00 on a Saturday.
I hope that the food is good and that the neighborhood supports this place because Boston so desperately needs places like this!
