The wife & I got a wedding gift certificate here from a friend so we checked it out (friend hadn't been, just picked it knowing we like to try new places). Not bad but really kind of ho-hum. For app's we had mushroom stuffed w/crabmeat and we honestly couldn't taste any crabmeat, the breading was really bad on these, almost like a frozen foodservice app. Oh, bread w/olive oil and garlic was good. Wife prefers this with not-so-olive-tasting olive oils, which this was. Entrees were better than the app. I had linguine w/marinara sauce, which they made spicy for me. The linguini came with some clams still in the shell and those seemed fresh, but the clam bits throughout the pasta did not, they may have been canned. They brought the heat on the clam sauce very nicely, actually, plenty of red pepper. Wife had some gnocchi w/marinara. Also pretty good, texture was off, a bit too firm. Taste was fine but it got a bit boring after awhile.
LOTS of wines by the glass here. I had a 2001 Aglianico Caputo, that was very good, maybe a bit too 'dark berried' to go with my meal, but whatever. The extensive list of wines by the glass might make this a good place to go in for a glass and then maybe a plate of antipasti or prosciutto/provolone stuffed hot peppers.
Hit Modern for some cannolis and ricotta pie for later. The ricotta pie is so good the wife and I wonder why the crap we waste our time with cannolis when it's the ricotta we crave, and the best delivery vehicle is the ricotta pie with no shell to slow us down.
