Non-asian food in the SGV -- an impossible quest?

JS | Feb 6, 200606:51 PM

After living in San Francisco for 4 years, I've moved back down to LA and live in Hacienda Heights. Being Chinese, I'm well acquainted with all the asian options in the area but am at a loss for where to go when I want something non-Asian.

In particular, I'm looking for decent (1) Spanish, (2) Upper-end mexican (not tacos, burritos), (3) small plates, (4) Cal/French, (5) Peruvian, (6) French (7) Upper-end Italian.

Places in San Francisco that I've enjoyed within these categories include:

Coco500 (Cal/French)
Fresca (Peruvian)
Piperade (Spanish/small plates)
Bocadillos (Spanish/small plates)
B44 (Spanish/small plates)
Colibri (Mexican)
Jeanty @ Jack's (French)
Bix (Cal/French)
A16 (Italian)

Are there any restaurants within a 25 mile radius of Hacienda Heights that would be in the same ballpark as any of these?
