Asheville Recommendations for Dining Alone or Carrying Out

bustlingswan | Feb 26, 201511:14 AM     19

Hi all! I will be in Asheville in a couple of weeks for the marathon at the Biltmore and am looking for dining suggestions. I will be travelling alone and will be having: Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast or lunch and a dinner, Sunday dinner.

What places would you recommend for dining alone? Are there any good restaurants that allow you to carry-out (that are not fast-food or Applebees or something)? Carry-out options are just nice to have if I am tired from travelling and feel like eating good food in my hotel room while watching TV :)

Bonus question: Is this town very taxi-friendly? Trying to decide if I need to rent a car or if it would be better to cab everywhere...

Looking forward to my visit! Thanks for any suggestions you can offer!
