Just had a WONDERFUL meal. Kudos to Artisinal for not only putting forth a great RW menu, and not skimping like so many other restaurants do, but props to our server for maintaining excellent service even though all four of us ordered off the RW menu. We all got the same thing, didn't look like the rest of the midtown-lunch crowd and were treated as total equals.
Apps: A homemade pasta, tagliatelli-type with mushrooms and a light brown-ish cream sauce. WOnderfully cooked, seasoned, flavored! With little slivers of a parm-regg cheese on there, we didn't ask exactly what type, but the whole dish was wonderful.
Entree: salmon nicoise ... but not the salad, just a great piece of salmon on top of items commonly found in the nicoise (sp?). haricot verts, olives, tomatoes, fennel, sliced artichoke. Cooked medium, SO nice. Very nice to have a piece of fish that didn't have the shit cooked out of it, very nice, crispy skin on top.
Three cheeses for dessert, one goat, cow & sheep with a nice basket of bread. All of the cheeses were explained to us. Ordered a nice pinot noir, had full attention from the somellier, great service from him too. I was drooilng over the regular menu, I will definitely go back, I had a great time.
We took care of our server as if we ordered off the regular menu, I hope he appreciated it, as we did him.
