Went to Artisinal this past Monday for a pre-Vaentine dinner. It was my first time and having read a bit about it on this site I'll give my observations. First, I needed to call back and confirm my reservation. I was wary because I had read about nasty reservation staff. Adding to this, I wasn't sure if they were open on Monday and there was also the snow-factor. The woman on the phone couldn't have been nicer and even thanked me 'For putting up with her' when she couldn't immediately find my reservation. I arrived about five minutes before my girlfriend and checked in with the reservation desk. After her arrival and one beer, we approached the desk and the man there remembered my name and brought us to our table. The waiter was fine. Not necessarily memorable, but helpful when needed and with none of the 'haughtiness' that other posters seemed to encounter. The food was good. Those cheese puffs (although there could have been more to the order), green salads, Artisinal-Blend Fondue, Macaroni and Cheese and cheesecake for dessert. The Leffe beers are delicious as well. Overall, I thought that everything about Artisinal worked. The noise level might have been a little high but at no time did it interfere with conversation. It's nice to get good food at a casual rest. I admit I was expecting an attitude from the staff but it never happened. They were all professional and friendly.
