At a recent dinner at Cafe Spice on University, my S.O. and I had the special appetizer. Our non-Indian-language-speaking server mangled the name--something like "Patra" (I thought she was a Jamaican singer, but whatever). Anyway, it was a delicious veggie dish consisting of something from the artichoke family (smaller, more compact) whose layers cradled a reddish, savory, semi-mushy stuffing. Toothsome and tender, indeed. Anyone know what it was? And where can I find more of it? Or even, how would I make it?
