I'm heading off to the Bronx Zoo this week to see the highly touted Congo shebang (haven't been to the zoo since I was four ). I thought it would be nice to link it up with Arthur Avenue. We often buy our must-have Italian provisions there however strangely enough never eaten a meal in a restaurant in the environs. I chalk it up to a common sentiment shared among many of my Italian-American friends: It's always better at home, the neighbor's or grandma's. We usually don't eat Italian out. Well, I'm up for a change.
Are Dominick's and Mario's your picks? I've heard the former is better. True? Knowing that there is a "no menu" policy, what are the recommended dishes? Besides my fave, Borgattis Ravioli, what else is absolutely essential whilst on Arthur Avenue?
