Armonk Country Kitchen- you lied!!!

MRS | Dec 1, 201004:21 PM

I met a friend at Armonk Country Kitchen today- its not my fave, but is in between where we both live and a decent spot for a salad, sandwich or some soup. I had a nice salad as did my friend and as we were leaving, I realized the husband was out for dinner- so I figured I'd bring something home to reheat for myself. ( The Little One eats little) Chicken Pot Pie looked soooo good on a rainy, icky night so I asked, " It is all white meat? Or a mix?"
The gentleman helping me stopped and asked another of the staff and the response was, " Yes, all white meat.". Really?! Because here I sit, tucking into something that looks like it could be Roast Beef Pot Pie if I didn't know better. The meat is so dark in this that I cannot tell what it actually is. It could be beef. It is that dark. It is so dark that even If I didn't hate dark meat, it would be distasteful.
Major turnoff- not just because I HATE dark meat, but also because I asked the question before bringing it home. $9.00 later, I have picked at the veggies ( few) and picked at the crust and had 3 glasses of water to combat the salt. The rest will go to the dog- in small measure b/c God knows I don't need her looking for water all night long!
I am so annoyed, What a way to ruin dinner! Yes, I know that purists will argue that pot pie had dark and light, but at place like Country Kitchen, we all know they are not looking to be purists. I have certainly had tasty, excellent WHITE meat chicken pot pie in other places in the area.
I am mad, thirsty and really bummed...don't be fooled! That was my last trip.
