Aquavit Cafe--RW dinner experience

famdoc | Feb 2, 2005 10:49 PM

RW dinner at Aquavit on Wednesday:
Welcome was warm. Seated in cafe. Was not treated in any way inferiorly as RW diners.
Offered amuse of herbed popcorn.
Appetizers: Herring platter (marvelous, as always), salad or tomato soup. Avoid the latter...tastes like Ragu spaghetti sauce. Our guest almost asked for the noodles.
Main course: all four of us had the smoked salmon served warm over salsify puree with herbed nage.
Very good and generous portion.
Dessert: Arctic Circle (goat cheese parfait) or chocolate mousse layer biscuit with lime sherbet.
Fine meal for money. Service excellent.
