I'm looking for a recipe for an Italian starter to bring to an Italian potluck dinner I'm going to next weekend. We're actually having 2 potlucks, one dinner will feature more Friulian dishes, and the other will feature more Abbruzese dishes...so any suggestions for antipasti from these regions would be welcome, too!
It'll be taking place during a weekend ski trip, so something on the easier-to-make side would be better.
I don't really want to make anything using fresh tomatoes/figs/cantelope, because the imported produce is pretty bad this time of year in Canada, especially in ski resort grocery stores.
I'm open to ingredients. I was trying to think of a starter featuring polenta, italian sausage or prosciutto.All I could think of this morning were the Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms I made a few years ago.
