I need the anti-mustard

I made Alton Brown's recipe for stovetop mac & cheese. Definitely better tasting than boxed mac & cheese BUT... It called for dry mustard. I added the exact amount that it called for, but the taste is overbearing. Does anyone have an idea of what can I do to offset the taste?
