The Annual Thanksgiving Aftermath, Failures and Successes

mushroomaffairs | Nov 26, 202107:11 AM     73

So how was your Thanksgiving? Good, bad and ugly? Any no shows? Raw mashed potatoes? Turkey on fire???????????

My Thanksgiving was a success! Even though it was held at my house, I didn't do much cooking, I left it all to my in-laws and mom. I did most of the prep work on on my own the entire Wednesday, cutting and rinsing all the vegetables and turkey. The only mistake I made was leaving the giblet pack in the turkey. I pulled out the giant neck and the fat ass (the tail but I always referred to it as the ass), rinsed the turkey and dried it off. Dear mom found it the next day crammed all the way in the cavity. I made turkey bacon bits the night before and accidentally left the whole bowl on the counter. There was a pie mishap at the end. There was supposed to be two different pies, one pumpkin and one apple, instead the bakery gave two pumpkin pies.
