Ann Arbor Indian - Report

Fried Okra | Jun 18, 200403:15 PM

Recently moved to A2, and have several good experiences with the local Indian restaurants:

Raja Rani - good naan, vindaloo is very spicy when requested (not often the case). Fair prices, and the rice is excellent.

Shehan Shah - Naan was extrememly salty...food was okay, but not more than average

Madras Masala - very good naan and rice. The Chicken Tikka Masala is good, and the prices are fair.

Shalimar - My favorite of the restuarants listed. Exc. naan and rice. The raita was the only one I have had in town that wasnt just yogurt an cucumbers. There was a decent amount of cumin as well. Had Tikka Masala and Lamb Vindaloo. Both were very good, and the lamb was tender.

Mysore Woodlands - 100% vegetarian. The food was pretty good, if slightly salty. Manchurian cauliflower was excellent. Admittedly, I only was there once, and the menu is extensive. No naan, as they have no tandoor.
