Went to Angon for dinner this eve .. . We had a 6:30 reservation, I was a few mins late .. we probably ordered by 6:50 & were out by 8.. We had very friendly, prompt service. Milton was very attentive (as was our woman server, whose name escapes me at the moment...I asked if Mina was in the kitchen & was told she was, did I know her? That's when I said, no, but I know of her. From the NYTimes article they asked, yes, and chowhound I replied.
For apps, Alu Tikka & Hamlin (like a lamb/lentil stew which we spooned over the alu tikka) .. very tasty, a bit of spice... mains were Chicken Jhal fry & Shrimp Shak (w/spinach) ... when we asked for spicy spicy, we were told the chicken was fairly spicy to begin with, are we sure we wanted it more spicy? We settled for trying the chicken as is, and requested the shrimp to be a bit more spiced, since this was the less spicy of the 2. (also ordered some garlic nan) ... When the dishes arrived, the hot peppers were clearly pointed out to us (there were also jalapenos in the chicken dish) !! I read a post where the person was disappointed in only a few pieces of chicken. Both of our dishes had plenty of chicken & shrimp - we have leftovers. We really enjoyed all of the food we ordered - just the right spice for us - the garlic nan was fresh & tasty, all was washed down with a Kingfisher apiece. We had no room for dessert unfortunately, perhaps next time, which there definately will be!
