Angkor Cambodian Bistro, 408 E 64th St -- a gem (short review)

I have been hoping for a Cambodian place to open in this area for years, and am very happy with this place, which has been open since New Year's 2016 -- we first went there in March of that year and have been back several times since.
We have enjoyed everything we've had there, including the two types of amok, the pancake filled with vegetables and served with mint, lettuce, cucumber, and various condiments, the crab and shrimp spring rolls...
Yesterday we had a delightful lunch of grilled pork meatballs, double-spicy beef salad with mint (nice and tart and just hot enough), grilled jumbo shrimp in red coconut milk curry with julienned basil, grilled eggplant, and grilled pineapple, and Siem Reap double-spicy rice noodles with vegetables (hooray, okra!, cauliflower, broccoli, etc.). Also enjoyed the dessert of honeydew melon and pumpkin stuffed with coconut milk custard. The dry but fruity Austrian Buchegger rosé went beautifully with the food.
The room is beautiful and comfortable, and the service is very caring. A gem.
