Angelini Osteria Saturday Night -- what a bargain!

You know, everytime my husband and I go here, we stuff ourselves to the gills and when the bill arrives, we're always stunned -- it's never over a hundred bucks! We always talk about coming here more often, but you know what -- I'm glad we don't. It's too special a place for a regular haunt, I never want to get too use to it!

Okay, so here's what we ordered:

Two lovely glasses of red -- a syrah for me and a pinot noir (edna valley, a fav of ours) for hubbie.

Two apps -- a wonderful salad w gorgonzola cheese & pears and the amazing sausage w/ canennelli (sp?) beans. Sadly, they didn't have the artichoke apps (I think it's fried) which I remembering enjoying -- oh, well.

Two green lasagnas (note: this is a must for us, we "build our meal" around this -- and there's no way either one of us would ever think about splitting!)

Pork special (entree) which we split

I have yet to have dessert here because we just stuff ourselves -- before our meal, I even told my husband that no-matter what, we were going to get a dessert but at the end of the day (night), I just couldn't!

The bill came to $92. Oh, we also got a bottle of water. For the quality and quantity of the food, it's just a great bargain. When we go to Blairs or Vermont (in our hood), the bill is usually more. And by splitting the entree, we both get our green lasagnas and have a great variety of food --

If you haven't gone, there's no excuse! Hey, and if you're not drinkers, this bill could have easily gone down by $25...
