We had dinner last night at Angelina's and it was yummy. :) Because of our smaller stomachs we couldn't eat a whole lot, so we ordered appetizers.
I had lobster ravioli in a cream sauce, my husband had gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce, and we shared a salad of fresh mozarella and marinated roasted red peppers. Two of them were $9, and one was $8, but I can't rememeber which was $8. ;)
Service was professional and attentive without being annoying. The setting was nice, good atmosphere and I was glad we had reservations because it started filling up shortly after we arrived at 6.
We were brought some italian bread and there was olive oil on the table for dipping in. The olive oil had a nice fruity flavour and the bread was adequate, though not outstanding.
The lobster ravioli was lovely. Each ravioli (there were four of them) had a nice piece of lobster in it and the lobster cream sauce was delicate and flavourful. There was a touch of garlic but it wasn't overpowering at all.
My husband said he expected a stronger, or more intensely flavoured, sauce from something billed as a gorgonzola sauce, and the gnocchi were a bit on the bland side and could have used the strong flavour. I had one of this gnocchi and it seemed a bit chewier than I like (I think I prefer fluffier gnocchi).
The cheese and red pepper was great, but the pepper could have stood up to a stronger marinade. We conjectured that since these were appetizers, it was possible they were made a bit lighter in anticipation of things to come in the entrees that we didn't have room for.
All in all this was a great restaurant and those comments above are not complaints about the food, merely observations of the difference between what we'd expected and what we received. The food was good, service impeccable, atmosphere lovely, and the prices seemed reasonable. There were several items on the entree menu that we really wanted to try, but there was just no way we'd have been able to fit them in. :)
I highly recommend this place.
