After reading the raves on this board (and others) about Angelica Kitchen in the East Village, my wife and I went there last night. We will never return. While we were waiting for a table, we looked at the menu and both of us immediately were concerned that the food "looked bland". We just had a feeling. Well, we were both right. With the exception of the cornbread, which was the best we had ever tasted, everything else was bland. OK, the veggie chili was good, but for $13? Benny's Burritos-among other places- have veggie chili just as good and much cheaper! Everything else- vegetables, beans, penne pasta- all flavorless- even some bitter and horrible tasting green leaves thrown in- YEECH! $31 down the sewer! We left hungry and got pizza afterwards nearby! From now on we'll stick to our old standby- ZEN PALATE on Union Square- where they have vegetarian food filled with FLAVOR and we walk away full for $20!!!
