So visited Andalu for the first time last night -- on the early-ish side around 7 p.m.. And all in all, it was just ok. The wine flights (we had the sauvignon blanc & pinot) were a good deal at $10/$15 for 3 selections, but the food was nothing special.
Could things have changed so drastically with the departure of Marcella Lew?
Has anyone else had just a so-so experience recently? I came away thinking, what was the big deal about all that? Maybe I just had it built up in my mind to be something better?!!
Our small plates:
*Mac & Cheese -- actually lightly breaded mac and cheese sticks -- not bad, a nice jalapeno kick to them.
*Moroccan Cigars w/ Ground Lamb and Yogurt-Mint Sauce -- pretty good. Although fried...I should have gueesed
*Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin w/ Mashed Yams -- probably the best of the lot, but at least one slice of the tenderloin was on the rare side.
*Beef Short Ribs with Bean Salad -- pretty fatty.
*Sauteed greens w/ garlic -- not bad.
*Dessert -- donut holes with Castilian hot chocolate
