So I just came home from South Africa with a small jar of something called Anchovette. It appears to be quite popular there as I bought the smallest jar but it also came in peanut butter size quantities. Now don't get me wrong - I love anchovies. I love anchovy paste, pizza with anchovies and I can eat anchovies straight from the jar. I even like Marmite (which I know isn't the same thing but it has a similar savouriness). But this stuff is weird. Its actually fishier tasting than a straight anchovy, if that's possible. Can anyone tell me how it's used? I'm finding it a bit difficult to handle.
