Best Restaurant: Kaagman & Kortekaas. All locals. Pre-set menu where they bring multi-courses out for you, but accommodate allergies. Food was on the flavorful and bold side, and delicious. All locals. Restaurant has a cool ambience. Also the wine list was spectacular. And to boot, they were willing to offer wine corkage (rare in Amstedam)!
Best Breakfast: Amsterdam Pancake House. I am celiac so their gluten free accomodation was very good. We went twice. First day was a hit, the second day was a miss -- you have to order right! The winners were the pancake with camembert, french ham, chicory, herbs, and raspberry sauce. Also a winner was "aged dutch cheese with apple syrup"... this was a parmesan crisp-like crepe with tannic apple sauce - divine and crispy! I also had the smoked chicken with vegetables and added cheese - very good. The salmon and chives was such a HUGE miss.. it was a plain pancake with some salmon plunked on top and a side of cream cheese.... not terribly creative and the flavor profile is not as unique.
OK: DeKas. Beautiful ambience in a park. But the meal pacing was much too slow. Food was very good. But wine list not great. And they do not offer wine corkage.
Rice table: We did Restaurant Jun. It was quite good, but I wouldn't say it blew is away. Didn't go to others to compare against, however.
