American Girl Place "Afternoon Tea" at The Grove

First, I am not remotely employed by any place I discuss on Chowhound. So if I sound a little to much like I really like a place that is because I find it special for some reason. I like this place because of the smiles it brings to little faces and because the teas and treats they serve are pretty good as well. I know because we have taken our Granddaughter to the American Girl Afternoon Teas in Chicago and New York and it has proven to be her favorite special thing to do. The new American Girl Place at The Grove in Los Angeles will finally be open in May and beginning this Monday (Jan., 16th.) the General Public can reserve a tea-time for an Afternoon Tea at the new store. The Teas theme is really fun for kids and adults because the Treats celebrate the time period of each original American Girl doll. It was a little like having something that was once new or popular to eat from America’s past. I was surprised that the teas, food and cakes were actually good. I could have ate the egg salad sandwich all by myself. A little chocolate colored tea cup in front of each person helps to decorate the table. I was surprised to find it was real chocolate and the soil inside was crumbled Oreo cookies. Those were also good. Yep, I was one of only several guys in the palce but hey, it was for my little angel – right?. You can read more about the Tea in the link below. The number to call for reservations is (877) 147-5223.
