Just wanted to get the word out on this...my wife and I went to Rock City for dinner for the 2nd time the other night...and it blew me away again. I don't think many people know that they do "small" plates (which aren't that small) for dinner now...Weds-Sat nights...and a Sunday brunch. The chef they brought in for this is originally from Cape Elizabeth but it sounds like he spent some time in NY restaurants before landing here. I promised to do my part to spread the word, especially now that one of my favs in Rockland - Lily Bistro - recently closed. We have to support quality or we'll lose it. And the community suffers for it. We split the brussels sprouts dijionnaise, fried sour pickles, trio of sliders, espresso/chipotle rubbed pork ribs, and the beignets with maple walnut ice cream and and bourbon whipped cream for dessert. It was so good. I was so impressed with the quality...the ribs especially were otherworldly. They also have a decent selection of wine and beer, with three local brews on tap (including the Baxter IPA - tasty). So, there you have it. Doing my part to support quality on the midcoast!!
