After checking this board, we stopped at the Big Texan Steakhouse Restaurant in Amarillo this week. Mike had the prime rib, which was fatty and so-so, with fried onions which were very greasy and salty.

I had the barbecue platter, which was really good, lots of chopped brisket, very tender, on top of two sausages and 3 pork ribs, all covered with plenty of sauce. The side potato salad was nasty though, partially cooked and sour tasting.

A gentleman at the next table made a big complaint to the waitress about his steak, said it was dry and overcooked. He was not a happy camper at all.

The service was pleasant and the place is fun, with strolling musicians and people in western costumes.

I Regret to tell you all that the rattlesnake has died!
