My daughter has made my husband an ice cream bowl for Father's Day at a paint-yer-own pottery place.
To go with this, I would like to make him some sort of ice cream topping with an amaretto-flavored taste. For some odd reason, this is his favorite liquour (I think he secretly fancies himself as the Jon-Bon-Jovi-ish-with-shorter-hair bartender from the Amaretto di Sarono commerical).
Anyway, does anybody have any ideas? I guess if I had to narrow it down, I'd like to make something with the amaretto flavor, but the consistency of pourable caramel. It would most certainly be perishable and require refrigeration. That's not a problem. Could be a cold sauce or a warm sauce.
Any suggestions are most appreciated.
