Altadena BBQ on Lake in parking lot

Woody | Sep 24, 200506:38 PM

I stopped at a Saturday only BBQ stand in Altadena today on a whim. The place is in the parking lot of a carwash/detailing place on Lake. They had ribs, chicken, links, tri-tip, and a few sides. Sandwiches are $5, and a 2-meat combo is $13.
I had ribs and tri-tip with potato salad and baked beans. The potato salad was generic, but the baked beans had bits of canned pineapple mixed in. Very tasty!
The pork ribs were terrific. I would say they compare directly with the Prayer Church in style and taste. Moist and meaty, with a spicy sauce brushed on top. The tri-tip was standard issue LA BBQ, but it was trimmed nicely and sliced very thin.
I asked the operators what the place was called, and they laughed and said they have no name, they just sell Q on Saturdays here in this lot.
All in all, a good find.
Someone else will have to fill in the location details. I was kinda lost and am not familiar with that part of town. I know it was 210-E to Lake, then left on Lake towards The Hat and Roscoe's. It is on the same side of the street as Roscoe's, about a mile or two up.
