Went to Restaurant Alma this past weekend and must say it was one of the top 5 best meals I have even eaten. The hamachi starter was butter. Followed it by the orzo with lobster. I could've licked the bowl! Main course was kobe beef prepared medium rare. It was the best beef experience I have ever had. My sweetie ordered the shrimp and chickpea salad...very flavorful. Followed by the polenta gnochi...absolutely delicious! His main course was the sea scallops. They were dreamy.
One thing, I wouldn't do the wine pairing with the meal again. You get the same three wines no matter what meal you ordered. I feel we could've had better pairings if we had picked the wine ourselves.
Overall, Alma is a must try. Next visit we plan to sit at the wine bar for a more casual yet yummy experience.
