"Each Wednesday night, the restaurant stages Sip and Splurge, where you can taste rare or pricey wines with a fancy snack to match. Prices can be as high as $32 for a pour of a 2002 Soter Vineyards Cabernet Franc, but a better deal is the $68 flight, which gets you four different wines with four matching canapes by XYZ chef Paul Piscopo"

The article says there's a report that the chicken liver mousse is "toe-curling good,"

Seems like the Chinese concept of live fish in tanks is going mainstream. Waterbar, in the Embarcadero near the bow and arrow sculpture will serve live fish from around the world.

And for fans of Jan Birnbaum, next door to Waterbar will be Epic Roasthouse. Could the good view/bad view jinks be broken?

It seems Paul Bertolli's sausage are now available for sale at certain shops. Anyone tried them?

Peter McNee is the new chef at Poggio (Sausalito) and rustic dishes like spit-roasted lamb with fava bean passato are planned for the menu.

I tell you my chow world is being rocked. First I find a Mr. Pizza Man that serves delicious food and now XYZ might be a place to visit rather than avoid.
