The good news is that Los Altos finally has a new restaurant; the bad news, it still needs some tweaking. I recently ate dinner and lunch at this new site.
The bread basket they bring to the table is sticks of crouton type bread. Very hard, very crunchy. Most of us disliked this immensely....a few of the others at the table asked for more.
The duck pasta was delicious. Very promising start. Then the main courses of lamb and rib eye arrived. Despite asking for rare, the rib eye was medium. Very tough. Didn't even seem like a rib eye. The lamb was medium rare and flavorless. Did not have any lamb flavor. I would recommend staying away from the meat dishes at this point. Ironically, the meat dishes are about the same prices as the pasta dishes.
For lunch, most of us had a *sandwich* which was actually a big flour tortilla fold in half and filled with ceasar salad, grilled chicken and bleu cheese. The description on the menu did not match what arrived. My chicken was burnt and I thought it was awful whereas my seatmate loved hers as she loves *burnt* flavor.
The desserts we tried were the lemon curd (delicious), chocolate torte (a dry brownie), and a horrible cheesecake.
I'll probably never go back dispite a very nice atmosphere and good service.
