Like the former Cafe St Honore in this location, Four Corners sells baked goods and cakes by the excellent Artisan Bakery
The coffee is now Catahoula which I love. There is a mexi mocha on the espresso beverage list. The chocolate for the mix is also supplied by Catahoula.
There is a simple menu of salads and sandwiches which use Acme bread.
They also have a few specials. They had soup for lunch today. In the evening they will have a dinner special. Today it was beef empanadas. The owner said they will have stew type of dishes. They don't have a full kitchen so it will probably be limited to things that are baked like the empanadas or can be slow cooked like stews.
They don't currently have Ici ice cream but may in the summer. If enough people asked, they might get it sooner but there may be some issues.
There is a website coming but I'll put the simple menu of sandwiches and salads in the first reply.
I had a sample of the granola with dried fruit which was very good.
I ordered the Scotch egg which is a hard boiled egg covered with spicy sausage and baked. it comes with two Hawaiian sweet rolls.
The menu says the Scotch eggs are baked which is unusual because traditionally they are fried.
The coating was spicy and while not as good as the now-closed Nigerian restaurant on University, they were good. Tell them not to heat the Hawaiian rolls.
This is a difficult report for me to be objective about. I'm crazy about Artisan Bakers. I'm happy local restaurants are starting to serve Catehoula coffee. The owner was very pleasant and seems like a nice person.
But ... while it is basically the same space repainted and slightly streamlined ... I miss the cheerful goofiness of Cafe St. Honore. Also, I know a little of the back story. I promised not to tell, but you can read it on yelp.
Unfortunately, with the unpleasantness, Catahoula coffee is getting trashed. This is really a good coffee by one of the kindest business owners in the Bay Area. I'm sad there's some fall out because of the situation. The irony is that on Yelp Catahoula gets four and a half stars with over 50 reviews.
Food-wise I liked what I tried. I hope Chowhounds will report on the food merits of the place. We probably won't ever know the whole story.
The hours shrunk a little 7am - 11 pm.
