Alas, McCormic and Schmicks' Oyster Happy Hours has gone TOURIST

Used to be amazed at the 50 cent oysters and reasonable two-drink minimum at McCormic & Schmicks (yes I know it's a chain and that their regular dishes taste about as inspired as the Olive Garden). But now, though still a deal, it's an experience that has been sadly down graded.

First, no more selection of oysters for the special price. You get what ever happens to be their choice. Still a good deal at 50 cents per. But the drink prices have increased dramatically. $9.75 for a bloody mary?! $7.00 for a draft beer.

Surly waitress explains: "They're about in keeping with this neighborhood." Well, thanks for letting this native New Yorker know how midtown is, toots. Next time, just save time and say, "Tough nuts, rube."

Between the new prices and Sheraton Hotel attitude, I'm gone. Even cheap Oysters have their price I guess.
