The other day one of the local stations ran a spot on their news for this place. Mrs. Sippi loving crawfish decided we needed to go. Pronto.
So yesterday we went for lunch. Much to our dismay the crawfish boil we were hoping for was sold out. Unfortunately they had a large turn out on Friday night (upwards of 20 people waiting in the parking lot) and the remaining mudbugs being ruined (way too much salt) during cooking. I have to had it to the manager Chris. He wouldn't sell and inferior product.
So anyway, we ended up with a bunch of southern and Cajun favourites.
Fried Green Tomatoes ~ very good. Awesome sauce with them.
Fried Catfish ~ Very good. Good mustard slaw and fantastic hush puppies with it.
Pistolettes ~ A French roll, hollowed out and stuffed with crawfish etouffee, breaded and fried. Excellent. Came with two sides that ended up being onion rings, made in house and good and sweet corn.
Shrimp Po' Boy ~ Fantastic. The breaded shrimp was still crisp and juicy.
Hot Tamales ~ Made by a little old man in the Mississippi delta these things were a good balance of meat and masa with a nice spicy sauce. It doesn't seem hot at first but does catch up to ya.
They have big plans to add out door tables, beach volleyball and the like.
Seafood boils are seasonal but eventually they'll do crawfish, shrimp, blue crabs and gator tails from what I'm told.
Good beer selection at a good price as well.
