At there yesterday, what a find.
I think it's even better than Beirut Express and Maroush (or the other 'oushes' on Edgeware Road...
I had superb babaganouj - literally the best I've ever eaten. Just smoky enough, not too salty or oily, with excellent, thin bread to mop it up.
And Fatayer which I expected to be like spanakopita but were just little spinach puff pillows.
Then we asked the waiter to recommend two mains and he brought us a lamb shawarma, again, with that great thin bread - I tasted cinnamon or something...and forgot to ask. Whatever, it was really creatively spiced.
I am not a chicken-person, but had to hold myself back from my friend's shish taouk. More succulent than tandoori chicken.
Complimentary baclava, fresh juice, bargain prices. And they couldn't have been nicer. I shall return!
