How does Kino (in Brooklyn's Dumbo) survive? We dined there last Saturday night, and were one of just two tables. All the rest -- there must be several dozen tables -- were empty. The place is enormous, thousands and thousands of square feet. Seven customers does not a Saturday night make. What gives?
BTW, our food was tasty. Steak au poivre with frites was delish, as was salmon on slate and the risotto. Salads were large enough to share and equally good. But service was amateurish -- our waiter claimed it was his first night, and we believed him.
