I was recently in Toronto for a few days (I live in Montreal) and I went to afternoon tea at the Windsor Arms. I didn't post a question on where to go to tea on chowhound but there were a few threads in the Ontario board which I used to do some research on the best place for afternoon tea.
I had a great experience. The food was amazing and for the price you get quite a lot. Even though the hotel can seem overly posh the servers were really friendly. The only thing I didn't like was that they wouldn't tell me where they get their tea. :( I had the Tibetan Tiger tea which was delicious. I believe we paid 35 dollars each for 3 kinds of sandwiches, 1 mini quiche, scones, jams and jellies, devonshire cream, petit fours and berries with whipped cream. I did a whole review and have tons of pictures on my food blog for those who are interested. http://cookbookfixation.blogspot.com/...
This weekend I am going for afternoon tea at the Queen Elizabeth in downtown Montreal and I am really curious to see how it will stack up to the Windsor Arms.
