Addissae - Ethiopian in Asheville

Really enjoyed our visit here on Wednesday. It opened in December and is located right behind Thirsty Monk downtown. We opted for the veggie sharing plate ($13) and the meat sharing plate ($16). They both arrived on one big tray, sans utensils. They'll bring you forks on request but we thought eating with our hands (and scooping up our meal with the interesting yet delicious spongy bread) was a lot of fun! The food was great...spicey but not too spicy, veggies not overcooked to death...some things could have used the tiniest bit of salt but then again I'm a salt freak so that may have been just me. Service was good and the best part of the evening was when an especially funky Ethiopian song came over the speakers and the adorable little owner came out clapping and dancing and many of us got up from our seats to join him! Another uniquely Asheville experience :)
