Acqua Pazza

MAH | May 5, 2004 10:59 PM

I had a pretty tasty business lunch at Acqua Pazza today (on W 52nd, b/t 5th & 6th). Anyone have strong feelings about this place?

Their menu is heavy on homemade pastas and fish, both of which were quite tasty. I had a pappardelle with rabbit ragu and an uneventful misticanza salad with fennel, celery and very fresh, sweet cherry tomatoes. I want to like this place more than i did. while the food was pretty good (i also tried a companion's swordfish and another one's spinach/ricotta gnocchi looked wonderful)...the service was rushed, brusque and neglectful. Is it better for dinner? or just flawed at any time? If the service were better (or had the possibility of being so) i might put it in my rotation of business dining places in the neighborhood...which could use some new additions.

FYI- for all you atkins and south beach dieters...i noticed that they have 2 or 3 homemade pastas on their menu denoted "low-carb"...made with fava bean flour. anyone tried these?
