Using access roads to get into/out of a Turnpike rest area

So the nearest Starbucks to me is in a NJ Turnpike rest area. I'm obviously not going to pay a toll to get there, so I looked at a satellite image and lo and behold there's an unmarked access road to get into it from town. I decided to check it out, and there's no signs saying not to enter. I've now snuck in and out of it twice to get coffee, but now lost my nerve because while there's no signs saying not to enter, there's also nothing welcoming me to use it. I would have never noticed it if not for Google Earth. Any idea if these are restricted for official use?
