Stopped into the bar/cafe last night for drinks and a few bites with two overseas colleagues (first time for all of us). Service was outstanding start to finish and involving at least 4 different people. Bartending, as advised here, was also superb.
The food itself was fine as far as it went but was uniformly rich without any balancing element. All 3 dishes chicken terrine en croute, roasted tomatoes on a bed of warm goat cheese, and gorgonzola fondue with lamb and brioche for dipping would have greatly benefited from a small mound of bitter greens, or a few asparagus spears, or some grilled radicchio or SOMETHING to cut through all the richness. Im sure we could probably have ordered a green salad although there wasnt one listed on the bar menu, but it seems like such an obvious thing to balance flavors on plates such as these.
So a bit disappointing overall, although the service and the company made for an enjoyable night.
