5061/Tropical Chinese/Moroccan

Ate at 5061 yesterday. Very trendy Morningside place. Food was good but nothing to die over. Had a good carpacio but house salad was literally a bagged mesculan green dumped on a plate for $8.95. My husband had a decent burger and very good fish chowder. Place is very cool looking, like a NYC unfinished loft.

Visited the so called "best" of South Florida Chinese, Tropical on Bird Road. Someone better call the server police, the service has nosedived. We waited over 45 for aps, the another half hour for food, which was brought out one plate at a time. Mine was ice cold before hubby ate...snapper supreme was excellent as always, but other dishes, eight star duck, noodle dish, were so so. Next table were getting check when we got food, and we sat down 15 minutes before they did. Very hands on owner has been traveling. He better land home soon before the doors close.

Anyone tried Moroccan Nights in Surfside? Heard it was good but served family style so a romantic dinner two would turn to a food orgy.
