The Under $5 Lunch Challenge, Beverly Hills/Fairfax Area

Meatyard | Aug 30, 200511:14 PM

My co-workers and I are sick to death of wasting upwards of $10 each day on just-okay lunches. We work in Beverly Hills in a building with no good eating area, so it's pretty inevitable that we go out. Our plan: to find places in the general vicinity (as far east as La Brea, as far west as Doheny; from Pico to Santa Monica) where we can eat a decent non-fast food meal for under $5. That's right, $5 -- not $6, and not $7. Is this possible? Or are we doomed to pack lunch, cook at the microwave, and eat at our desks? You tell me. I've heard there is a $3.99 special at a Thai place next to K-mart by the Grove, but we may need more options. Please advise.
