Hello everyone, new to the site. Would probably classify myself as somewhere around an intermediate level home cook.
I'm getting married in October and have been doing a ton of knife research for our registry. I've been second guessing my knife decisions for months, but my fiancé found a block that she really wants, so I will have room for 5 kitchen knives. Which knives would you select in this situation?
I think I'm comfortable with the chef's knife, paring knife, and bread knife, that I've picked; but that leaves two more knives to select. Should I go with a boning knife and a carving knife? A smaller chef's knife and a utility knife? Some other combination?
