We are heading to France and Italy for a shorter-than-we-wish vacation at the end of July this year and need any and all recommendations! Just as a background note, we are both young professionals who love spoiling ourselves rotten on good eats in our little city of Denver (and everywhere we travel). We love modern takes on food more than traditional, stuffy settings, and we love a good wine or cocktail. A romantic ambiance would be great for a couple meals, but something lively and most importantly "French" (we are not picky whatsoever) is what we are really looking for, as it will be our first time in the country. We don't have a budget; nothing insane and obviously the more for the value the better.
Any thoughts? We will be spending more time in Paris than Lyon but haven't completely made up our minds yet on the itinerary. I've been reading up on CH but, since our time is very limited, would love a more tailored short-list. Thanks in advance :)
