36 hour eating fest through Boston

A writer friend (from Seattle) and I (from New York) are meeting in Boston for a 36 hour talk/walk/food fest on March 17th and 18th...would love advice from the experts!

Thursday night: looking for great food and wine, where we can sit and eat and talk for a while. Seafood, Asian/fusion, French all great.

Friday: we want to walk around the Boston and stop for goodies here and there...great coffee to start the day, then maybe a healthy lunch (maybe a good salad restaurant?), and then finally a place for late afternoon wine and appetizers or tapas, before one of us leaves.

We won't have a car, but as I said, we're walkers, want to see the neighborhoods, and aren't subway/metro shy.

And thank you!

(ps, being around Cambridge at some point would be great, as I think my friend would love to roam around some cool bookstores. if you have any you love (i know, this isn't bookhound, it's chowhound), please feel free to suggest)
