300-500 grit stone suggestion

I am looking for a low grit stone for reprofiling knife edge. Usually, I don't go lower than 1000 grit, but when do I need it, I really need it. I have been using DMT extra coarse and extra extra coarse for, but the edge can be chippy after a DMT stone (I am finally agreeing with the consensus).

I am looking that the default choice: Benton 500.

Any other suggestions? I know Naniwa Super offers 400, but I don't know if I really want a 400 grit stone feeling like Naniwa Super. Shapton Glass seems too thin. Nubatama Bamboo 320 Grit is expensive. Thanks.
