I will be in Paris with my girlfriend for three days at the end of October.
Ive been obsessively reading all the boards regarding where to eat in Paris and now am a little confused and in need of assistance. We are staying by porte maillot, but traveling to any location in the city will not be an issue for us. We are looking for mostly classical french meals, but throwing in something a little new/edgy for one meal would be great too. overall we'd like to spend no more than 50-60 eur/person for dinner, less of course would be great, but we're mainly looking for bistros, not high end fine dining.
We arrive on monday afternoon, and leave on thursday morning. It seems that most restaurants are closed on Monday so where do you suggest we go for dinner that night? We planned on going to the Eiffel tower and maybe taking a Seine cruise that first day so a central location would probably suit us best. Ive read that La Gaigne is open on mondays. Is that a good choice? Or Les cocottes?
Tuesday lunch: should we go to bistrot paul bert (read that dinner can be hit or miss, but figured it would be good for the set lunch menu)? or le comptoir du relais?
We def plan on going to chez l'ami Jean on tuesday night.
We may or may not be able to catch lunch in paris on wed because we are going to versailles in the morning, so does anyone have suggestions for lunch in versailles or paris (if we can make it back in time)?
Where should we go for dinner on wed night? Le Chateaubriand? Frenchie? Itineraires? L’Epigramme? We would of course love to end the Paris leg of our trip on a good note.
Any/all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
